MELBOURNE - Jul 5/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high 1038 hPa centred near Mount Gambier will move slowly eastwards, to be centred over Victoria on Friday and over the Tasman Sea on Sunday. A weak low is expected to develop over the Bight late on Sunday then move southeast as an associated trough of low pressure crosses the State on Monday and Tuesday. Forecast for the rest of ThursdayA fine, mostly clear and cool evening. A cool to cold evening with light to moderate southeast to northeasterly winds.Friday 6 JulyA cold morning with areas of frost. Early fog patches, mainly in the east. Fine otherwise. A cool to mild day with light to moderate southeast to northeasterly winds.Saturday 7 JulyA cold morning with areas of frost, then a fine, cool to mild and mostly sunny day. Light to moderate northeasterly winds, freshening in the west and about southern coasts.Sunday 8 JulyCold with areas of morning frost, mainly in the north, then a fine, cool to mild and mostly sunny day. Light to moderate northerly winds, fresh in the west and south.Monday 9 JulyThe chance of isolated showers developing on and east of the ranges and also about western and southern coasts. A cool to mild day with light to moderate northerly winds, shifting moderate southwesterly over western parts during the day. Accumulated rainfall amounts from Thursday morning through to midnight Monday are expected to be 2 to 10 mm over districts east of the ranges with all of the rainfall expected on Monday. Totals of up to 2 mm are expected on the ranges, and also about southern and western coasts.Tuesday until ThursdayIsolated showers possible over most of the State apart from parts of the the Northwest Pastoral. Isolated showers continuing about the coasts.
