Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Jul 1/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A low pressure system lies over the Tasman Sea and a large high pressure system is situated over the Bight. A weak cold front will approach the southwest of the State today and will cross southern Victoria early on Tuesday. The high will move slowly eastwards towards Victoria during Wednesday and Thursday.
Forecast for the rest of MondayScattered showers in southern and mountain areas, mainly in the southeast. Isolated thunderstorms and hail in the southeast, contracting eastwards. Snowfalls above 1100 metres. A cool to cold day with moderate to fresh southwesterly winds.Tuesday 3 JulyIsolated showers in southern and mountain areas, scattered near the coast. Snow above 1100 metres. Mainly dry on the northern plains with just the chance of isolated light afternoon showers. Early inland frost then a cool to cold day with moderate southwest to southerly winds.Wednesday 4 JulyIsolated showers in southern and mountain areas, scattered in the southeast. Snow above 1200 metres. Fine and partly cloudy in the north. Early inland frost then a cool to cold day with moderate south to southwesterly winds.Thursday 5 JulyIsolated showers in the south, scattered in the far southeast. Fine and partly cloudy in the north. Early inland frost then a cool day with light south to southeasterly winds.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm EST Monday.Product IDV10310
