Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Jul 1/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A low pressure system just south of Victoria will drift slowly eastwards out over the Tasman Sea on Monday. A weak cold front will cross southern Victoria early on Tuesday with a large high pressure system moving south of Adelaide. The high will remain then move slowly eastwards towards Victoria during Wednesday and Thursday.
Forecast for the rest of SundayShowers mainly in southern and mountain areas, gradually clearing in the northwest. Local hail and thunder in the southeast. Snowfalls above 900 metres. Cold and mostly cloudy with moderate to fresh west to southwesterly winds.Monday 2 JulyScattered showers in southern and mountain areas, mainly in the southeast. Isolated thunderstorms and hail in the southeast, contracting eastwards. Snowfalls above 1100 metres. Local early frost inland then a cool to cold day with moderate to fresh southwesterly winds.Tuesday 3 JulyIsolated showers in southern and mountain areas, scattered near the coast. Snow above 1100 metres. Mainly dry on the northern plains with just the chance of isolated light afternoon showers. Early inland frost then a cool to cold day with moderate southwest to southerly winds.Wednesday 4 JulyIsolated showers in southern and mountain areas, scattered in the southeast. Snow above 1200 metres. Fine and partly cloudy in the north. Early inland frost then a cool to cold day with moderate south to southwesterly winds.Thursday 5 JulyIsolated showers in the south, scattered in the far southeast. Fine and partly cloudy in the north. Early inland frost then a cool day with light south to southeasterly winds.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:00 am EST Monday.Product IDV10310
