MELBOURNE - Jun 30/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A low pressure system near the Bass Strait with a trough over southern New South Wales is moving slowly east and a high pressure system west of the Bight extends a ridge to the northeast. Later on Sunday the low will move over the southwestern Tasman Sea as the high strengthens the ridge throughout the state. The high is expected to move very slowly east, maintain the ridge over New South Wales and be centered near Tasmania next Saturday. Forecast for the rest of SundayIsolated showers on the western slopes of the southern and central ranges tending scattered in the south with snow showers above 900 metres. Partly cloudy the remainder. Westerly winds turning colder, fresh southwesterly in the west.Monday 2 JulyIsolated showers on the western slopes of the southern ranges with snow showers on the Alps. Mostly sunny the remainder. Widespread morning frosts inland. Cold southerly winds.Tuesday 3 JulyThe chance of showers in the southeastern inland. Mostly sunny elsewhere. Widespread morning frosts inland. Southerly winds.Wednesday 4 JulyThe chance of showers nenearhe south and central coasts. Partly cloudy elsewhere.
