MELBOURNE - Jun 30/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A low over Tasmania will move over the Tasman Sea by Sunday night. A high near Perth will move slowly eastwards to be south of South Australia mid-late next week. A series of troughs between these two systems will move over southern parts of the State through this weekend and into the early part of next week. Forecast for the rest of SaturdayIsolated showers over the southern pastorals, agricultural area and western coasts, tending scattered with small hail and possible isolated thunderstorms about the southern agricultural area. Cool to cold with moderate to fresh west to southwesterly winds.Sunday 1 JulyIsolated showers over the agricultural area, scattered over the southern agricultural area, contracting to southern coasts and ranges during the day and becoming isolated late evening. Possible isolated showers over the south of the Pastoral districts until late afternoon. Possible morning frost across the Pastoral districts. Cool to mild with moderate southwest to southerly winds, tending light and variable in the west.Monday 2 JulyIsolated showers over the southern Peninsulas, Kangaroo Island and the Lower South East, possibly extending inland over southern agricultural areas and the West Coast district during the afternoon and evening. Cool to cold at first with frost over the Flinders and Pastoral districts then a cool to mild day with light to moderate southwest to northwest winds, tending light and variable in the north.Tuesday 3 JulyIsolated showers over the southern agricultural area and West Coast gradually easing and contracting to southern coasts during the day. Cool to cold at first with frost over the Flinders and Pastoral districts then a cool day with light to moderate southwest to southeast winds.Wednesday 4 July Fine conditions apart from possible isolated showers about the Lower South East. Cool to mild with light to moderate southeast to easterly winds. Cumulative rainfall totals from Saturday afternoon until midnight Tuesday are expected to be 5 to 15 mm over the southern agricultural area increasing to 15 to 25 mm about southern coasts and ranges, and up to 5 mm elsewhere south of Coober Pedy. Thursday until SaturdayFine apart possible isolated showers over the Lower South East coast Thursday morning.
