MELBOURNE - Jun 30/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A complex slow moving low near Tasmania will direct a few troughs across southern New South Wales over the weekend with associated showers, snow on the ranges and freshening westerly winds. On Monday and Tuesday, the low will shift to the southern Tasman Sea, bringing cooler conditions in strengthening southwesterlies as showers gradually peter out. By the middle of the next week, a broad high pressure ridge will strengthen over New South Wales with mostly clear conditions and frosty nights. Forecast for the rest of SaturdayIsolated showers over the southern inland, tending scattered about the western slopes of the southern ranges, with snow lowering to about 1000 metres later. Chance of thunderstorms in the southern inland. Mostly sunny elsewhere. West to northwest winds, fresh in the south.Sunday 1 JulyIsolated showers in the southeast in the southeast, scattered about the western slopes of the southern and central ranges, with snow below 800 metre level. Partly cloudy the remainder. Colder, fresh and gusty west to southwest winds extending through most districts, fresh to strong in the southeast.Monday 2 JulyChance of isolated showers on the western slopes of the southern ranges, with some snow about the Alps. Mostly sunny the remainder after widespread morning frosts inland. Cold southerly winds.Tuesday 3 JulyChance of isolated shower along the Victorian border and southwest slopes. Mostly sunny elsewhere after widespread morning frosts inland.
