MELBOURNE - Jun 29/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A cold front, associated with a deep low well south of the Bight will move across the state today. A west to southwest airstream will continue through the weekend as a high pressure system develops over the west of the state then gradually moves east. Forecast for the rest of FridayScattered showers extending over the southern agricultural area, with possible small hail during the afternoon and evening. Possible isolated thunderstorms south of Port Neill to Adelaide to Naracoorte. Isolated showers over the northern agricultural area and the south of the Pastoral districts. Cool to cold with moderate to fresh northwest to southwest winds, strong about the coasts.Saturday 30 JuneIsolated showers over the agricultural area and western coasts, tending scattered with small hail and possible isolated thunder about the southern coasts and ranges, contracting to southern coasts during the day. Possible isolated showers over the south of the Pastoral districts clearing by evening. Cool to cold with moderate to fresh west to southwesterly winds.Sunday 1 JulyIsolated showers over the agricultural area, scattered during the morning over southern coasts, and possible isolated showers over the south of the Pastoral districts, contracting to southern coasts in the evening. Cool to mild with moderate southwest to southerly winds, tending light and variable in the west.Monday 2 JulyIsolated showers over the southern peninsula's, Kangaroo Island and the Lower South East. Cool to mild with light to moderate southwest to northwest winds, tending light and variable in the north. Cumulative rainfall totals from Thursday afternoon until midnight Monday are expected to be 8 to 20 mm over the southern agricultural area increasing to 15 to 40 mm about southern coasts and ranges, 3 to 8 mm over the northern agricultural area and west coast, and up to 3 mm elsewhere south of Coober Pedy.Tuesday until ThursdayIsolated showers south of about Port Lincoln to Keith contracting south and clearing early Wednesday. Fine over the remainder.
