Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Jun 26/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A strong high pressure system centred over southeastern Australia and Bass Strait is extending a ridge to the northern Tasman Sea bringing onshore winds to New South Wales coast. An offshore trough will develop near Queensland on Wednesday increasing shower activity for northern parts of NSW coast. The high is expected to move slowly towards New Zealand during Thursday and Friday. On Friday a low pressure system is expected to move to the south of the continent, extending a trough through New South Wales and bringing colder air across the state over the weekend.
Forecast for the rest of TuesdayIsolated showers on the central and north coasts and adjacent ranges tending scattered in the north with drizzle persisting on the central ranges and Illawarra. Partly cloudy elsewhere. . Morning fog and frost areas inland. Southwest to southeasterly winds, fresh along the northern coast. Dangerous surf conditions developing south of Coffs Harbour.Wednesday 27 JuneIsolated showers in the northeast with rain areas on the far north coast and adjacent ranges. Partly cloudy elsewhere. Morning frost areas and fog patches. Southeast winds, tending north to northeasterly in the west and southeast. Dangerous surf conditions, easing from the south.Thursday 28 JuneIsolated showers on the north coast and adjacent ranges tending scattered in the far north and isolated showers on the western slopes of the southern ranges, falling as snow above 1600m over the Alps. Partly cloudy remainder. Easterly winds in the northeast, fresh along the coast, northwest to northeast winds remainder.Friday 29 JuneIsolated showers on the western slopes and on the far north coast. Showers tending scattered over the Alps and falling as snow above 1300m. Partly cloudy elsewhere. Westerly winds.Saturday 30 JuneIsolated showers on the central and south west slopes, and along the Victorian border. Showers tending scattered over the Alps, and falling as snow above 1200m.
