Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Jun 24/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A strong high pressure system over South Australia is moving slowly to the east and extends a ridge across northern and central NSW. A cold front to the east of Tasmania is moving steadily east. A second front developing well south of the Bight is expected to move northeast and affect southeast NSW later tomorrow then cross the remainder of coastal NSW during Tuesday. The high is expected to move into the Tasman Sea on Wednesday as a trough off the southern and central Queensland coast deepens a little. A front is expected to approach southwest NSW Thursday with an associated, deep low pressure system south of the Bight.
Forecast for the rest of SundayIsolated light showers over the southeastern inland tending scattered on the western slopes of the far southern ranges with snow showers above 1400 metres. Mostly clear elsewhere. West to southwesterly winds.Monday 25 JuneIsolated showers over the southeastern inland, more likely on the western slopes of the far southern ranges with snow showers above 1500 metres. Isolated showers developing on the south coast later. Mostly sunny elsewhere. Morning frost and fog areas, particularly on and west of the ranges. Moderate to fresh west to southwesterly winds turning fresh to strong south to southwesterly winds about the southeast later.Tuesday 26 JuneIsolated showers extending north along the coast and adjacent ranges, and clearing in the south. Mostly fine and partly cloudy west of the ranges. Morning fog and frost areas. Southwest to southeasterly winds, fresh along the northern coast. Dangerous surf conditions developing from the south.Wednesday 27 JuneIsolated showers about the northern coast and adjacent ranges, tending more widespread north of about Coffs Harbour. Fine elsewhere. Morning frost areas and fog patches. Southeast to northeast winds, fresh to strong on the far north coast.Thursday 28 JuneIsolated showers about the north coast and for the western slopes of the southern ranges. Fine remainder. Easterly winds in the northeast, fresh along the coast, northwest to northeast winds remainder.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 am EST Monday.Product IDN10031
