Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Jun 24/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system over northern South Australia is expected to be slow moving, before extending southeastwards from later Monday, to be eventually centred over the Tasman sea on Thursday. A weak front will move over the southeast of SA on Monday, decaying as it moves northwards. A cold front over the far west of the State early Thursday, will move eastwards to be centred over Gulf Waters in the evening. An associated low will deepen to the south of the Bight later Thursday.
Forecast for the rest of SundayIsolated showers over the southern agricultural area. Cool to cold with light to moderate southwest to southeasterly winds, tending moderate westerly near southern coasts.Monday 25 JuneIsolated showers over the southern agricultural area. Showers tending scattered over the far southern coasts and the Lower South East district during the day. Early morning fog, chiefly over the northern agricultural area. Early frost patches over the Pastoral and Flinders districts. Cool with moderate southwest to southeasterly winds gradually easing.Tuesday 26 JuneThe chance of isolated showers near southern coasts, clearing in the afternoon. Morning fogs south of about Woomera to Broken Hill. Early frost over the Pastoral and Flinders districts. Cool with light southeast to northeasterly winds.Wednesday 27 JuneFine apart from early frost and fog patches, chiefly over eastern districts. Cool to mild with light to moderate northeast to northerly winds, freshening near the coasts during the day.Thursday 28 JuneIsolated showers developing over most of the agricultural area and near western coasts, increasing to scattered showers near southern coasts. Generally cool to mild with light to moderate northwesterly winds, fresh over the agricultural area, ahead of a westerly change extending over western districts during the day. Cumulative rainfall totals from Sunday afternoon until midnight Thursday are expected to be up to 1 mm over the northern agricultural area, increasing to 1 to 5 mm over the southern agricultural area, with isolated falls of 5 to 10 mm near southern coasts.Friday until SundayIsolated showers over the agricultural area, tending scattered over the southern agricultural area on Friday and Saturday. Cool with moderate to fresh northwest to southwest winds, fresh to strong at times near the coasts, easing on Sunday.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:30 am CST Monday.Product IDS10033
