Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Jun 22/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system over southwest WA extends a ridge over the state. The high is expected to move slowly eastwards to a position over the state on Sunday, then remain near stationary until moving over the eastern states on Wednesday. A cold front will move over southern parts of the state late Sunday and Monday.
Forecast for the rest of SaturdayIsolated showers over the southern agricultural area and western coasts. Early morning frost patches inland. Early morning fog patches in the Mid North and northern Mt Lofty Ranges. Generally cool to cold with moderate to fresh northwest to southwesterly winds.Sunday 24 JuneIsolated showers over agricultural areas and western coasts, increasing to scattered showers about southern coasts late evening. Early morning frost and fog inland. Generally cool to cold with moderate southwest to southeasterly winds.Monday 25 JuneIsolated showers over the agricultural area and West Coast gradually easing. Scattered showers at first about the southern coasts. Morning fog and frost inland. Cool with moderate southwest to southeasterly winds gradually easing.Tuesday 26 June
Isolated showers about the southern agricultural area contracting south and clearing during the day. Morning frost and fog inland. Cool with light to moderate southeasterly winds turning northeasterly in the west.
Cumulative rainfall totals from Saturday until midnight Tuesday are expected to be up to 5 mm over agricultural areas increasing to 5 to 10 mm over the southern coasts and about the Mount Lofty Ranges.
Wednesday until FridayFine at first across the State. Showers developing in the west late Wednesday and on Thursday before moving over agricultural areas and southern Pastoral districts on Friday. Generally cool to mild with northerly winds freshening later in the period.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm CST Saturday.Product IDS10033
