Tight Stocks Help Peas
VANCOUVER - Jun 22/12 - SNS -- International field pea markets maintained their firm tone during the past week, helped by tight old crop stocks and expectations of good demand for new crop product.
Markets were also a little defensive because the coming week will see the USDA and Statistics Canada release seeded area estimates for their respective countries.
Combined field pea area will be up over last year. The question is by how much.
