MELBOURNE - Jun 22/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A series of cold fronts will move across southern parts of the state through the weekend before a ridge of high pressure develops over the Bight early next week. The high pressure system is expected to move slowly east, to be centred over Tasman Sea by mid-week. Forecast for the rest of FridayIsolated showers, increasing to scattered showers with possible thunderstorms about coastal areas west of Ceduna. Possible small hail this evening. Cool to cold with moderate to fresh west to southwesterly winds.Saturday 23 JuneIsolated showers over agricultural areas and western coasts. Early morning frost patches inland. Generally cool to cold with moderate to fresh northwest to southwesterly winds.Sunday 24 JuneIsolated showers over agricultural areas and western coasts, increasing to scattered showers about southern coasts late evening. Early morning frost and fog inland. Generally cool to cold with moderate southwest to southeasterly winds.Monday 25 JuneIsolated showers over the agricultural area and West Coast gradually easing. Scattered showers at first about the southern coasts. Morning fog and frost inland. Cool with moderate southwest to southeasterly winds gradually easing.Tuesday 26 June Isolated showers about the southern agricultural area contracting south and clearing during the day. Morning frost and fog inland. Cool with light to moderate southeasterly winds turning northeasterly in the west. Cumulative rainfall totals until midnight Tuesday are expected to be up to 5 mm over agricultural areas increasing to 5 to 15 mm over the southern and western coasts and about the Mount Lofty Ranges. Wednesday until FridayFine at first across the State. Showers developing in the west late Wednesday and on Thursday before moving over agricultural areas and southern Pastoral districts on Friday.
