MELBOURNE - Jun 21/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A front will cross New South Wales on Friday, as a strong high pressure system develops to the southwest of Western Australia. The front will bring gusty northwest to southwesterly winds, areas of rain, lowering snow levels and cooler temperatures to state. As this front moves out into the Tasman Sea on Saturday, most areas of the state will clear although some residual showers are possible over the southern inland on Saturday and Sunday as another front moves through the area. Forecast for the rest of FridayShowers or rain over most areas west of the Divide, most widespread along the western slopes and falling as snow above about 1000 metres on the southern and central ranges by the end of the day. Isolated afternoon showers over the eastern ranges and southern coast, with the chance of a thunderstorm on the South Coast. Fine along central and northern coastal areas. Gusty west to northwest winds, gale force over the parts of the southeast.Saturday 23 JuneIsolated showers developing over the southern inland, falling as snow above about 900 metres on the southern ranges. Mostly sunny elsewhere. West to northwesterly winds, tending southwesterly on the north and central coasts.Sunday 24 JuneIsolated showers in the southeastern inland. Partly cloudy elsewhere. Southwesterly winds.Monday 25 JuneIsolated showers in the southwestern slopes. Partly cloudy elsewhere.
