MELBOURNE - Jun 18/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A broad high pressure system over central Australia extends a ridge into New South Wales, while a low in the southern Tasman Sea continues to move toward New Zealand. The high will move slowly across the State during the next few days, before a front enters from the southwest on Thursday. Forecast for the rest of MondayPartly cloudy in the south, with the chance of isolated light showers on the western slopes of the southern ranges, and some snow showers above 1600 metres. Sunny in the north and over coastal districts. West to southwesterly winds.Tuesday 19 JuneIsolated showers on the western slopes of the southern ranges, with snow showers above 1700 metres. Early frosts inland. Areas of morning fog in the west. Mostly sunny in the north and over coastal districts. West to southwesterly winds in the east, tending light and variable in the west.Wednesday 20 JuneChance of isolated light showers on the western slopes of the far southern ranges, falling as snow above 1600 metres. Early frost and fog inland. Mostly sunny day over the remainder. North to northwesterly winds.Thursday 21 JunePatchy rain developing over southern inland, tending to rain areas in far south and on the western slopes of the far southern ranges, with snow above 1600 metres. Early frost inland. Partly cloudy remainder. Fresh northwest winds, gusty at times in the southeast.Friday 22 JuneIsolated showers in the central west and on the ranges, tending scattered over west slopes in the south.
