Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Jun 15/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system over the southeastern Tasman Sea extends a ridge along New South Wales coast and and a low pressure system southeast of the Bight with a weak trough to the north is moving very slowly east. This trough preceded by rainband will cross the state during Saturday as another high moves north of the Bight extending a ridge to the east. The high is expected to move slowly east and to be center over southeastern Australia by Tuesday.
Forecast for the rest of FridayIsolated showers on the western slopes of the southern ranges with snow showers about the higher peaks, clearing later. Patchy rain developing in the far west late in the day or evening. Partly cloudy elsewhere. North to northwest winds. Dangerous surf conditions on the northern coast.Saturday 16 JunePatchy rain in the far northeast apart from the far north coast and ranges. Rain areas in the remainder, tending widespread over the central and southwestern slopes. Snow showers developing on the Alps. Northerly winds turning westerly in the west.Sunday 17 JuneRain areas in the east clearing early. Isolated showers on western slopes of the ranges clearing from the north. Snow showers on the southern ranges above 1200 meters. Mostly sunny elsewhere. West to southwest winds.Monday 18 JuneIsolated showers on the western slopes on of the southern ranges with snow showers above 1700 metres. Early frost inland. Partly cloudy remainder. West to southwesterly winds.Tuesday 19 JuneIsolated showers on the western slopes on of the southern ranges with snow showers 1700 metres. Early frost inland. Partly cloudy remainder.
