Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Jun 15/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
An low south of the Bight will move slowly eastwards, weakening as it moves over Tasmania and into the Tasman Sea. A high to the west of Perth is expected to move over South Australia on Sunday, then New South Wales next week.
Forecast for the rest of FridayIsolated showers over parts of the agricultural area and West Coast, increasing to scattered showers with possible thunderstorms about the coasts. Cloudy with patchy rain over the Pastoral and Flinders districts north of about Woomera to Yunta. Cool to mild with mainly moderate to fresh northwest to westerly winds.Saturday 16 JuneRain clearing from the Northeast Pastoral by mid-afternoon. Isolated showers over the agricultural area, scattered at times with possible thunderstorms about the southern coastal areas. Cool to mild with moderate to fresh northwest to southwest winds.Sunday 17 JuneIsolated showers over the southern agricultural area and western coast, scattered about the southeastern coast before sunrise. Cool with moderate southwest to westerly winds tending light over the Pastoral districts.Monday 18 JuneIsolated showers about the southern agricultural area increasing to scattered showers about southern coasts during the afternoon. Generally cool with moderate to fresh west to southwesterly winds, tending light and variable over Pastoral districts.Tuesday 19 JuneFine apart from isolated showers clearing from the southern coasts during the day. Cool to mild with with light winds turning moderate northerly over western parts of the State. Cumulative rainfall totals from Friday afternoon until midnight Tuesday are expected to be up to 2 mm over the northern agricultural area and West Coast, increasing to 2 to 5 mm about the southern agricultural area with isolated falls reaching 5 to 20 mm about southern coasts and ranges. Falls of up to 5 mm are possible over the Northeast Pastoral district with the rain tonight and on Saturday.Wednesday until FridayPatchy rain developing over coastal districts on Wednesday before extending to remaining agricultural and southern Pastoral areas on Thursday. Showers following the rain on Thursday as cooler southwesterly winds extend across the State.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:30 am CST Saturday.Product IDS10033
