Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Jun 14/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A low pressure system south of the Bight will move slowly towards Tasmania during Friday and Saturday and gradually weaken. Another low pressure system is expected to form over the Tasman Sea during Sunday and a cold front will move from the Southern Ocean to affect southern Victoria on Monday night. The next high pressure system will approach Adelaide late on Monday.
Forecast for the rest of FridayIsolated showers in most southern and mountain areas, scattered at first in the northeast and falling as snow above 1500 metres. Dry in the northwest. Early fog patches. A cool partly cloudy day with moderate northwesterly winds.Saturday 16 JuneLocal early frost and fog in the northeast. Isolated showers developing during the day, mostly in the southwest and about the ranges and becoming scattered later in the far southwest. Alpine snow showers above 1500 metres. A cool and partly cloudy day with light to moderate northwesterly wind, freshening over southern areas in the afternoon.Sunday 17 JuneScattered showers in the south and about the ranges and isolated showers over the remainder. Snowfalls above 1500 metres. A cool and mostly cloudy day with moderate to fresh westerly wind, strong about the exposed coast.Monday 18 JuneIsolated showers in southern and mountain areas becoming scattered from the west late in the day. Snowfalls above 1600 metres. Dry in the northwest. Cool with light to moderate westerly winds turning southwest to southerly from the southwest towards evening.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm EST Friday.Product IDV10310
