MELBOURNE - Jun 14/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure system southeast of Tasmania extends a ride along New South Wales coast. A low pressure trough will move over the west of the state on Saturday as the high moves further southeast and coastal ridge weakens. The trough will contract over the western Tasman Sea during Saturday and another high pressure system will move north of the Bight gradually extending a ridge to the northeast of the state. This high is expected to be center over the southeastern Australia on Tuesday. Forecast for the rest of ThursdayThe chance of showers on the far western slopes of the southern ranges. Partly cloudy elsewhere. Northeast to northwesterly winds. Dangerous surf conditions.Friday 15 JuneIsolated showers on the western slopes of the southern ranges with snow showers about higher picks, clearing in the morning. Patchy rain developing in the far west later in the day. Partly cloudy elsewhere. North to northwest winds. Dangerous surf conditions on the north coast.Saturday 16 JunePatchy rain in the far northeast apart from the far north coast and ranges. Rain areas in the remainder, tending widespread over the central and southwestern slopes. Snow showers developing on the Alps. Northerly winds turning westerly in the west.Sunday 17 JuneRain in the east clearing early. Isolated showers on western slopes of the ranges. Snow showers on the southern ranges above 1200 meters. Mostly sunny over the far west. West to southwest winds.Monday 18 JuneIsolated showers on the western slopes on of the southern ranges. Early frost inland. Partly cloudy remainder.
