MELBOURNE - Jun 14/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation An intense low south of the Bight will move slowly southeastwards during the next two days. A southwesterly airstream will then develop across most of the State as the low moves through Bass Strait. A high pressure ridge is expected to develop over the north of the State early next week. Forecast for the rest of ThursdayIsolated showers over the agricultural area, increasing to scattered about the southern agricultural area. Cool to mild with fresh and gusty northwest to westerly winds moderating later.Friday 15 JuneIsolated showers over parts of the agricultural area, increasing to scattered with possible thunderstorms about the coasts. Cloudy with patchy rain developing over the Northeast Pastoral. Cool to mild with moderate to fresh northwest to westerly winds turning southwesterly during the day.Saturday 16 JunePatchy rain clearing from the Northeast Pastoral by mid-afternoon. Isolated showers over the agricultural area, scattered at times with possible thunderstorms about the southern coastal areas. Cool to mild with moderate to fresh west to southwest winds.Sunday 17 JuneIsolated showers over the southern agricultural area and western coast, scattered about the southeastern coast during the early morning. Cool with moderate southwesterly winds tending light over the Pastoral districts.Monday 18 JuneIsolated showers about the agricultural area increasing to scattered showers about southern coasts later in the day. Generally cool with moderate to fresh west to southwesterly winds, tending light and variable over Pastoral districts. Cumulative rainfall totals from Thursday until midnight Monday are expected to be up to 5 mm over the northern agricultural area and West Coast district, increasing to 5 to 15 mm about the southern agricultural area. Local falls totalling 15 to 25 mm are possible about the southern coasts and ranges. Parts of the Northeast Pastoral district east of about Leigh Creek could expect 2 to 10 mm with the rain on Friday and Saturday.Tuesday until ThursdayIsolated showers about the agricultural area clearing early Tuesday before patchy rain develops over agricultural areas and the west late in the period.
