MELBOURNE - Jun 12/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A low pressure system in the southern Coral Sea is extending a trough along the New South Wales north and central coasts, while a high pressure system near Tasmania extends a ridge across the west of the State. The low will move eastward away from the coast over the next couple of days, as the high moves very slowly to the southeast, with the associated ridge strengthening across the State. Another low pressure trough is expected to move through the state during Saturday. Forecast for the rest of TuesdayScattered showers along the coast and adjacent ranges, more widespread on the coastal fringe in the north with possible local moderate to heavy falls. Isolated afternoon showers on west slopes in the north. Partly cloudy the remainder. East to southeast winds, fresh at times on the coast in the north. Winds tending northeasterly in the far west. Dangerous surf conditions north of Smoky Cape.Wednesday 13 JuneIsolated showers on the coast and ranges, scattered along the coastal fringe at first, but easing during the day. Mostly sunny the remainder. Southeast to northeast winds, tending north to northwesterly in the far west.Thursday 14 JuneIsolated showers along the coast, contracting north during the morning, then clearing later in the day. Isolated showers over the southern inland in far south. Mostly sunny elsewhere. Northeast to northwesterly winds.Friday 15 JunePatchy rain developing in the far west, extending eastward later in the day. Mostly sunny elsewhere. North to northwest winds.Saturday 16 JuneMostly sunny in the far northeast. Patchy rain the remainder, increasing to rain areas over the central inland and the southeast.
