Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Jun 11/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system over the Tasman Sea will remain stationary over the next few days while a series of troughs move over the State, weakening as they move eastwards. An intense low will develop southwest of the Bight on Wednesday and move slowly eastwards.
Forecast for the rest of TuesdayEarly frost patches, mainly about the Riverland. Isolated light morning showers over agricultural and southern pastoral areas. Isolated showers developing over Eyre Peninsula and Kangaroo Island during the afternoon, extending to about Cleve to Naracoorte by late evening. Generally cool to mild, warmer in the west. Moderate north to northwesterly winds, fresh to strong near the coasts.Wednesday 13 JuneIsolated morning showers about southern districts, increasing to scattered about southern coasts and the southeast, clearing during the day then redeveloping from the west during the evening. Showers tending scattered with possible thunderstorms near the West Coast and Lower Eyre Peninsula. Cool in the southeast grading to mild to warm in the north and west with moderate northeast to northwest winds freshening during the day and becoming strong and gusty near southern and western coasts later.Thursday 14 JuneIsolated showers over the agricultural area and southern parts of the pastoral districts, increasing to scattered about southern coasts with possible thunderstorms about Kangaroo Island and the southern tips of Eyre and Yorke Peninsulas. Cool to mild with fresh northwest to westerly winds, strong and gusty in the south, possibly reaching gale force about southern coasts and ranges during the early morning.Friday 15 JuneIsolated showers over the agricultural areas, scattered with possible thunderstorms about southern coasts. Cloudy with patchy rain developing over the Northeast Pastoral. Cool to mild with moderate to fresh northwest to westerly winds. Cumulative rainfall totals from Tuesday until midnight Friday are generally expected to be 2 to 5 mm over the northern agricultural area and southern parts of the pastoral districts, increasing to 5 to 15 mm about southern agricultural areas and 15 to 30 mm about the southern coasts and ranges. Totals of less than 2 mm are expected elsewhere.Saturday until MondayPatchy rain clearing from the Northeast Pastoral late on Saturday. Isolated showers over the agricultural area, scattered at times about the southern agricultural area on Saturday and Sunday. Cool to mild with moderate to fresh northwest to southwest winds.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm CST Tuesday.Product IDS10033
