MELBOURNE - Jun 10/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A strong high pressure system centred southwest of Tasmania will move slowly eastward to be centred over the Tasman Sea on Tuesday. A series of troughs will begin moving over the State from Tuesday, weakening as they move eastwards. An intense low will develop southwest of the Bight on Wednesday and move slowly eastwards. Forecast for the rest of MondayCold to very cold early with areas of inland frost. Isolated early fog in the southeast. Isolated light showers in the west extending east to reach Eyre Peninsula late evening. A cool day, grading to mild in the far west. Light to moderate northeasterly winds, freshening near southern and western coasts.Tuesday 12 JuneEarly frost patches over eastern border districts. Isolated showers about the West Coast, Eyre Peninsula, southern Yorke Peninsula, Kangaroo Island, Fleurieu Peninsula and the Lower South East. Mild in the west and northwest and cool over the remainder with moderate north to northwest winds, fresh to strong near the coasts.Wednesday 13 JuneIsolated showers about southern districts. Cool in the southeast grading to mild to warm in the north and west with moderate northeast to northwest winds, strengthening near southern and western coasts.Thursday 14 June Isolated showers over the agricultural area, increasing to scattered about southern coasts. Cool with fresh northwest to westerly winds, strong and gusty about southern coasts. Cumulative rainfall totals from Monday morning until midnight Thursday are generally expected to be 5 to 10 mm about southern coasts, with possible local falls of 10 to 15 mm, and less than 5 mm further north. Friday until SundayIsolated showers about southern districts, extending northwards to remaining agricultural areas during the weekend. Isolated showers also over the northeast on Saturday. Generally cool, grading to mild to warm in the northeast. Light to moderate northwest to westerly winds, turning southwesterly later in the period.
