Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Jun 10/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system is moving towards Bass Strait, with its ridge extending across New South Wales and into the Tasman Sea, while a low pressure trough lies off the north coast. A low pressure system is deepening within this trough tonight and on Monday, as the high moves southeast of Tasmania maintaining the ridge to the northwest of the state. The low is expected to move slowly east away from the coast during Tuesday, while the high pressure system is expected to move into the southern Tasman. The high pressure system should continue to extend a high pressure ridge over New South Wales for Wednesday and Thursday.
Forecast for the rest of SundayScattered showers on the north and central coast tending isolated on the adjacent ranges and possibly extending to the northwest slopes and plains. Rain areas developing on the north coast later in the day. Partly cloudy elsewhere. South to southeast winds, freshening near the north coast. Dangerous surf conditions north of Ulladulla.Monday 11 JunePartly cloudy in the western half. Rain areas on the northern half of the coast, with scattered showers on the adjacent ranges. Isolated showers on the southern ranges and coast, as well as western parts of the central and northern ranges. Isolated showers increasing to scattered in the Illawarra during the day. Southeast winds, fresh and gusty on the north coast. Dangerous surf conditions developing north of Smoky Cape in the afternoon, becoming damaging north of Yamba.Tuesday 12 JuneIsolated showers coast and ranges tending scattered on the coastal fringe in the north. Partly cloudy remainder. East to southeast winds, tending northeasterly in the far west. Dangerous surf conditions north of Smoky Cape in the afternoon, damaging surf north of Yamba.Wednesday 13 JuneIsolated coastal showers for central and northern parts of the coast. Mostly sunny remainder. Southeast to northeast winds, tending north to northwesterly over the southern ranges and slopes.Thursday 14 JuneThe chance of isolated showers along the north coast and the Victorian border in the south.
