MELBOURNE - Jun 9/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure system is moving towards the Bass Strait extending a ridge to northern New South Wales. A trough is extending further south to offshore of northern parts of New South Wales. Later on Sunday a low pressure system will develop within this trough over the northern Tasman Sea and deepen on Monday as the high moves southeast of Tasmania maintaining the ridge to the northwest of the state. The low is expected to move slowly east away from the coast during Tuesday and Wednesday. Forecast for the rest of SaturdayIsolated showers on the north coast. Mostly clear elsewhere. Southwest to southeast winds. Dangerous surf conditions.Sunday 10 JuneWidespread early frosts inland. Areas of morning fog, except for the far northwest. Scattered showers on the north and central coast tending isolated on the adjacent ranges. The chance of a shower on the northwest slopes and plains. Rain areas developing on the north coast later in the day. Partly cloudy elsewhere. South to southeast winds, freshening near the north coast. Dangerous surf conditions north of Ulladulla, easing in central parts of the coast later in the day.Monday 11 JunePartly cloudy in the western half. Rain areas on the northern half of the coast, with scattered showers on the adjacent ranges. Isolated showers on the southern ranges and coast, as well as western parts of the central and northern ranges. Isolated showers increasing to scattered in the Illawarra during the day. Southeast winds, fresh and gusty on the north coast. Dangerous surf conditions north of Port Macquarie, easing later in the day or overnight.Tuesday 12 JuneIsolated showers coast and ranges tending scattered on the coastal fringe in the north. Partly cloudy remainder. East to southeast winds, tending northeasterly in the far west.Wednesday 13 JuneIsolated coastal showers for central and northern parts of the coast. Chance of isolated showers on southern slopes, and parts of adjacent districts. Mostly sunny remainder.
