MELBOURNE - Jun 7/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure system in the Great Australian Bight extends a ridge over most of the State. The ridge should strengthen during the next few days, with the high expected to be centred near Tasmania over the weekend. This pattern will produce low overnight temperatures, morning frosts and mostly sunny days for much of the state until the end of the weekend. Isolated showers in the northeast, mainly coastal , are expected increasing as low pressure trough develops and deepens over the northwestern Tasman Sea. Forecast for the rest of ThursdayIsolated showers over coastal districts in the north, scattered on the coastal fringe. Isolated showers on northern ranges, clearing. Mostly clear the remainder. Light to moderate southeast to southwesterly winds, fresh on the coast at times.Friday 8 JuneA cool to cold morning with widespread frosts over inland areas. Isolated showers on the north coast and far south coast, more frequent in the far north. Mostly sunny over the remainder of the state. Southeast to southwesterly winds.Saturday 9 JuneA cool to cold morning with widespread frosts over inland areas. Isolated showers in the northeast, more widespread along the far north coast, extending gradually southward along the coast. Partly cloudy elsewhere. Southwest to southeast winds.Sunday 10 JuneA cool to cold morning with widespread frosts over inland areas in the south. Showers in the northeast, tending scattered along the north coast and increasing. Dry the remainder of the State. South to southeast winds.Monday 11 JuneIsolated showers in the east, more frequent in the coastal districts and adjacent ranges in the north, increasing to rain in the far northeast.
