MELBOURNE - Jun 6/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A low pressure trough in the northern Tasman Sea has moved further away from the coast. A high pressure system moves south of the Bight and extends a ridge over most of the state. The high pressure ridge should strengthen during the week and the high pressure system is expected to be centred near Tasmania over the weekend. This pattern will produce cool overnight temperatures, morning frosts and mostly sunny days for much of the state from Thursday through until the end of the weekend. Later in the weekend showers are expected to increase along the north coast as a low pressure trough develops over that region. Forecast for the rest of ThursdayScattered showers along the central and northern coastal fringe, clearing from the south during the day. Possible showers over northern ranges in the afternoon. Mostly sunny remainder. Southeast to southwesterly winds easing further.Friday 8 JuneA cool to cold morning with widespread frosts over inland areas. Isolated showers on the north coast and far south coast. Mostly sunny over the remainder of the state. Southeast to southwesterly winds.Saturday 9 JuneA cool to cold morning with widespread frosts over inland areas. Isolated showers in the northeast, more widespread along the far north coast. Partly cloudy elsewhere. Southwest to southeast winds.Sunday 10 JuneA cool to cold morning with widespread frosts over inland areas. Showers in the northeast, tending scattered along the north coast.
