MELBOURNE - Jun 6/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A low pressure trough with a few small lows embedded in it lies over the western Tasman Sea. The low pressure centre closest to the coast is currently located off the Mid North Coast and is moving northeast and weakening. The trough is expected to move rapidly away from the coast during Wednesday as a high pressure system moves south of the Bight extending a ridge into the west of the state. The high pressure ridge should strengthen during the week and the high pressure system is expected to be centred near Tasmania over the weekend. Forecast for the rest of WednesdayIsolated showers on the east of the ranges, tending scattered on coast, more widespread in the Port Stephens area. Partly cloudy elsewhere. Southerly winds gradually easing along the coast. Dangerous surf conditions, easing from the south overnight.Thursday 7 JuneIsolated coastal showers, tending scattered on the northern coastal fringe and clearing from the south. Mostly sunny remainder. Southeast to southwesterly winds.Friday 8 JuneIsolated showers on the north coast. Mostly sunny remainder. Southeast to southwesterly winds.Saturday 9 JuneIsolated showers on the north coast. Partly cloudy elsewhere.
