MELBOURNE - Jun 4/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A low pressure trough lies over the western Tasman Sea. Tonight and on Tuesday, small deep lows will form within the trough and move towards the coast bringing significant rainfall and squally winds to the southern and central coasts. The trough is expected to move rapidly away from the coast during Wednesday as a high pressure system moves south of the Bight extending a ridge to the east. Forecast for the rest of MondayIsolated showers on the western slopes of the ranges and in the far west. Possible thunderstorms in the far west and in the far northeastern inland. Rain on the south coast and ranges becoming heavy overnight. Partly cloudy elsewhere. Westerly winds turning squally southerly on the south coast and ranges.Tuesday 5 JunePartly cloud in the far northeast. Rain on the southern half of the coast and on adjacent ranges heavy at times. Isolated showers elsewhere tending scattered in the east but clearing from the west. Westerly winds in the northeast, southerly winds elsewhere strong and squally on the south and central coasts and ranges.Wednesday 6 JuneIsolated showers coast and adjacent ranges tending scattered near the central coast. Partly cloudy elsewhere. Southerly winds gradually easing along the coast.Thursday 7 JuneIsolated coastal showers clearing from the south. Mostly sunny remainder. Southeast to southwesterly winds.Friday 8 June Isolated showers on the north coast. Mostly sunny remainder. Southeast to southwesterly winds.
