MELBOURNE - Jun 4/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A low over South Australia will move toward the eastern border districts this evening then over the northwest of New South Wales on Tuesday. A strong high pressure system centred well south of the Bight will move slowly eastward to be centred near Tasmania on Sunday. Forecast for the rest of MondayAreas of rain about eastern and central districts south of about Hawker. Isolated showers over the remainder of the agricultural area and West Coast district, possibly extending to the southern parts of the pastoral districts. Possible thunderstorms over the Flinders and southern parts of the Northeast Pastoral. Cool to cold with moderate to fresh southwest to southerly winds, fresh to strong at times near the coast and ranges.Tuesday 5 JunePatchy rain about the Mid North, Flinders, Riverland and southern part of the Northeast Pastoral clearing around sunrise. Isolated showers near southern and western coasts, and possibly over the North West Pastoral district west of a line Coober Pedy to Woomera. Cool with light to moderate southeast to southerly winds, fresh to strong at times near southern coasts.Wednesday 6 JuneIsolated morning showers near southern and western coasts. Cold at first inland with isolated frost then a cool day with light to moderate south to southeasterly winds.Thursday 7 JunePossible isolated morning showers near southern coasts. Morning frost patches. A cool to cold day with light to moderate southeast to easterly winds.Friday 8 JuneFine apart from early morning frost patches. Cold at first with areas of frost, followed by a cool to mild day with light to moderate southeast to northeast winds. Cumulative rainfall totals from Monday afternoon until midnight Friday are expected to be 10 to 30 mm about southern coasts and ranges, 5 to 15 mm over the remainder of the agricultural area, near western coasts, and over the far southeast of the North East Pastoral, and less than 5 mm over the remainder. The majority of these amounts are expected to occur during Monday.Saturday until MondayFine and mostly sunny with cold mornings and areas of frost. Isolated showers developing in the far west on Saturday then gradually extending east to most parts of the State by Monday.
