Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Jun 3/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
An upper level low over the southeast of South Australia will move northwards along the eastern border tonight and Monday. A strong high pressure system centred well south of Western Australia will move slowly eastward to be centred over Tasmania next Sunday.
Forecast for the rest of SundayAreas of rain and possible thunder about southern coasts and the Lower South East district. Scattered showers elsewhere about south central and southeastern districts with isolated showers over the remainder of the agricultural area and the West Coast. Cool with moderate south to southwesterly winds, fresh to strong at times near the coast.Monday 4 JunePatchy rain and possible thunder about eastern and central districts south of Leigh Creek. Isolated showers over the remainder of the agricultural area and western coasts, possibly extending to the Pastoral districts south of Roxby Downs and west of Coober Pedy during the day. Possible early morning fog patches about the Riverland and Murraylands. Cool with moderate to fresh southwest to southerly winds, fresh to strong at times near the coast.Tuesday 5 JunePatchy rain about the far east between about Leigh Creek and Lameroo clearing early. Isolated showers near southern and western coasts, and possibly over the North West Pastoral district west of Coober Pedy and Woomera. Cool with light to moderate southeast to southerly winds, fresh to strong at times near southern coasts.Wednesday 6 JuneIsolated showers near southern and western coasts. Cold at first inland with isolated frost then a cool day with light to moderate south to southeasterly winds.Thursday 7 JuneIsolated showers near southern coasts. Morning frost patches. A cool to cold day with light to moderate southeast to easterly winds. Cumulative rainfall totals from Sunday evening until midnight Thursday are expected to be 15 to 30 mm about southern coasts and ranges, 5 to 15 mm over the remainder of the agricultural area, near western coasts, and over the far southeast of the North East Pastoral, and less than 5 mm over the remainder. The majority of these amounts are expected to occur during Monday.Friday until SundayIsolated showers about the Lower South East coast clearing Friday evening. Cold mornings with areas of frost then cool days with light to moderate southeast to northeast winds.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:30 am CST Monday.Product IDS10033
