Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Jun 3/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A low pressure trough and associated rainband extend over NSW. This system will move southeastwards and deepen over the next few days as an upper trough approaches from the west. A low pressure system is expected to develop off the southern NSW coast today and move southwards before intensifying further off the Victorian coast on Monday. This pattern will see areas of rain over NSW largely contracting south and east during Sunday, although some showers will remain during Monday, particularly on the western slopes of the ranges. On Tuesday the low is expected to re-enter NSW coastal waters and track northwards, with very windy conditions and potentially moderate to heavy falls developing along the southern NSW coast on Tuesday.
Forecast for the rest of SundayFine in the far west. Cloudy in the east, with rain areas contracting to the southeast of the state and easing to isolated showers from the west. Possible afternoon thunderstorms on the northeast. Southeast to northeast winds, fresh at times along the southern coast.Monday 4 JuneShowers clearing over most of the state, although in the far south rain redeveloping during the afternoon. Mainly westerly winds, although tending southeast in the far south during the afternoon.Tuesday 5 JuneShowers redeveloping across the state, tending to rain with possibly heavy falls on the coast and adjacent eastern slopes south of the Hunter. Westerly winds in the far northeast. Westerly winds turning south to southeasterly, strong to gale force on the southern half of the coast and possibly along the ranges.Wednesday 6 JuneIsolated showers along the coast, tending scattered along central parts of the coast. Fine in the west. Southerly winds, gusty along the coast.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm EST Sunday.Product IDN10031
