MELBOURNE - Jun 2/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A weak cold front will cross southern Victoria later today. A large high pressure system will form well south of Western Australia during the weekend and extend a ridge across Tasmania. A low pressure system is likely to develop over northern New South Wales on Sunday before moving over the Tasman Sea on Monday and Tuesday. Forecast for the rest of SaturdayEarly frost patches inland. Morning fog patches. Isolated showers developing in the southwest then extending to remaining coastal areas at night. Dry in the north apart from the chance of a shower in the northeast at night. A cool and partly cloudy day with light winds turning moderate southerly from the west.Sunday 3 JuneScattered showers in the east, tending to rain at night. Isolated showers in the remainder. Snowfalls on the alpine peaks. Cool with light to moderate southeasterly winds, fresh along the coast.Monday 4 JuneRain areas in the east, isolated showers in the remainder. Snowfalls above 1500 metres. Cool with moderate to fresh southeasterly winds, strong at times near the coast.Tuesday 5 JuneIsolated showers, more widespread in the east. Remaining fine in the northwest. Snowfalls about 1300 metres.
