Fine though cool to cold over the remainder of the state except for some isolated showers and thunderstorms over the northeast tropics, clearing overnight. Outlook for Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday A deep low off the New South Wales coast is likely to move slowly east across the Tasman Sea, while a strong high should remain to the south of the continent. These two weather systems are likely to combine to drive cold and gusty S to SW winds across most of the state, and areas of drizzle over the southern interior and possibly also over the Atherton Tablelands. Winds should ease on Thursday as the high weakens. Widespread morning frost areas over the southern and central interior. The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:10 pm EST Friday.
