MELBOURNE - Jun 1/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure system just east of Victoria will drift further eastwards over the Tasman Sea on Friday. A weak cold front will cross Tasmania on Saturday morning and its northern tip will clip the Victorian coast late Saturday. A large high pressure system will form well south of Western Australia during the weekend and extend a ridge across Tasmania. A low pressure system is likely to develop over northern New South Wales on Sunday before moving over the north Tasman Sea on Monday. Forecast for the rest of FridayMorning frost and fog patches, mostly in the east. A generally fine and cool to mild day to follow with areas of high cloud and light winds.Saturday 2 JuneEarly frost patches inland. Isolated showers developing in the southwest and extending to central districts at night. Fine in the north. A cool and partly cloudy day with light winds turning moderate southeast to southerly from the west.Sunday 3 JuneScattered showers in the east, tending to rain at night. Isolated showers in the remainder. Snowfalls above 1600 metres. Moderate to fresh southeasterly winds.Monday 4 JuneRain areas in the east and along the Murray River. Isolated showers in the remainder. Snowfalls above 1500 metres.
