Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - May 30/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A strong high pressure system over southeastern Australia is moving east. The high will move across the Tasman Sea towards New Zealand during Thursday and Friday and associated ridge will gradually weaken across New South Wales. On Saturday a low pressure trough will extend over the western parts of the state from Queensland and then it will deepen and move east during Sunday as an upper trough approaches from the west. The trough will move offshore on Monday and a low is expected to develop within the trough but at this stage the timing and position of this system is very uncertain.
Forecast for the rest of WednesdayIsolated showers on the north coast tending scattered in the far north. Mostly sunny elsewhere. Southeast winds, fresh along the far north coast.Thursday 31 May
Isolated showers on the north coast and adjacent ranges. Patchy rain developing in the far northwest. Partly cloudy elsewhere. Morning fog patches and frost areas, particularly in the southeast. East to southeast winds.
Dangerous surf conditions, hazardous for coastal activities such as swimming, surfing and rock fishing, are expected between Norah Head and Yamba.
Friday 1 JuneCloudy in the southeast. Scattered showers on the north coast. Patchy rain elsewhere tending to rain areas in the far west. Southeast to northeast winds.Saturday 2 JuneIsolated coastal showers. Rain areas in the northwest. Patchy rain elsewhere. Northeast to southeast winds.Sunday 3 JuneRain areas in the eastern half tending widespread near the central coast. Isolated showers in the east.
