MELBOURNE - May 29/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure system over the eastern Bight will move slowly eastward to be centred over the Tasman Sea late Thursday. A low pressure trough will develop over the northeast on Thursday and Friday. Forecast for the rest of TuesdayIsolated light showers near southern coasts. Light to moderate south to southeasterly winds.Wednesday 30 MayIsolated showers near southern coasts clearing in the afternoon. Cold at first with isolated frost, mainly on and east of the Flinders Ranges, and morning fog patches. A cool day with light to moderate easterly winds.Thursday 31 MayAreas of rain developing over the Northeast Pastoral. Cold at first with isolated frost east of the ranges and morning fog patches in the southeast. A cool day with light to moderate east to northeasterly winds.Friday 1 JuneAreas of rain over the Northeast Pastoral with patchy rain extending over the Flinders, Mid North and Riverland districts. Rain contracting to eastern border areas by late evening. Cool with light to moderate northeasterly winds turning southwest to southeasterly.Saturday 2 JunePatchy rain clearing to the east early morning with isolated showers over most areas of the state apart from the northwest. Cool with moderate to fresh southwest to southeasterly winds. Cumulative rainfall totals from Tuesday afternoon until midnight Saturday are expected to be 5 to 10 mm over the Flinders, 10 to 20 mm over the Northeast Pastoral, and less than 5 mm elsewhere.Sunday until TuesdayIsolated showers contracting to coastal districts during the period.
