MELBOURNE - May 28/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure system is located over the Bight and extends a ridge across Victoria. A weak front will move across Tasmania and Bass Strait Tuesday night, then the high will move slowly eastwards over Victoria on Wednesday to reach the Tasman Sea on Thursday. The next cold front will approach the far southwest of the State Friday evening. Forecast for the rest of MondayCloudy in the south with isolated light showers, fine and clear across the north. Light to moderate south to southwest winds, fresh along the Gippsland coast.Tuesday 29 MayLocal early fog and frost patches inland. Mostly cloudy south of the divide with isolated light showers, contracting to the southwest coast during the afternoon. Fine and mainly sunny across the north. Cool with light to moderate south to southwest winds.Wednesday 30 MayEarly fog and frost patches inland. Cloudy in the south at first with drizzle, mainly about the coast and clearing by early afternoon. Then a cool to mild and mainly sunny afternoon throughout. Light and variable winds.Thursday 31 MayEarly frost inland and widespread morning fog patches. Then a fine, cool to mild and mainly sunny day to follow with winds tending light northeasterly.Friday 1 JuneEarly morning frost in the northeast and morning fog patches. The a fine, cool to mild and mainly sunny day until isolated showers developing in the southwest towards the evening.
