MELBOURNE - May 26/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A deep low pressure system located east of Tasmania will move steadily southeastwards, away across the south Tasman Sea during today and Sunday. The next high pressure system will move over Bight waters on Sunday and extend a ridge across Victoria on Monday. The high will still be located just west of the State on Tuesday, moving across Victoria on Wednesday. Forecast for the rest of SaturdayCloudy with scattered showers persisting on and south of the ranges and isolated showers over the northern inland. Snowfalls above 1500 metres on the ranges. Cold with fresh southwesterly winds, reaching gale force at first along the East Gippsland coast but easing from the west at night.Sunday 27 MayEarly frost patches in the north. Isolated showers on and south of the ranges, scattered about the coast and over Gippsland. Showers falling a snow on the ranges above 1600 metres. Cool with moderate to fresh southwesterly winds, strong at times about the Gippsland coast.Monday 28 MayLocal early frost patches inland. Isolated showers persisting in southern areas but fine over the northern plains. Cool and partly cloudy with light to moderate south to southwest winds.Tuesday 29 MayLocal early fog and frost patches inland. Isolated showers in southern areas but fine over the northern plains. Cool and partly cloudy with light to moderate south to southwest winds.Wednesday 30 MayLocal early fog and frost patches inland. Isolated showers near the coast, mainly morning.
