MELBOURNE - May 25/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A weak trough will move across the south this afternoon and evening followed by a cold front on Saturday. A high pressure system centred over the southwest of Western Australia will move slowly eastward over the next couple of days to be centred south of the Bight by Sunday afternoon. This high will then move slowly southeastward early next week to be centred over the southeast of the continent on Thursday. Forecast for the rest of FridayIsolated showers over the agricultural area and southern pastoral and Flinders districts, scattered at times near southern coasts and ranges. Isolated showers clearing from Flinders and southern pastoral districts early evening. Cool to cold with moderate to fresh southwest to southerly winds.Saturday 26 MayIsolated showers over the agricultural area, extending into the Flinders and southern pastoral districts from late morning. Showers increasing to scattered over the southern agricultural during the morning with possible isolated thunderstorms near southern coasts, then becoming isolated again by evening. Cool with moderate to fresh northwest to southwesterly winds turning southwest to southerly.Sunday 27 MayIsolated showers about the southern agricultural area and near the coast, contracting to southern coasts and ranges by evening. Isolated early drizzle and fog about the pastoral and Flinders districts.Generally cool with mainly moderate southwest to southeast winds.Monday 28 May Isolated showers near southern coasts and ranges. Cold at first with isolated frost about eastern districts, then cool with light to moderate southwest to southeast winds. Tuesday 29 May Isolated showers near southern coasts. Cold at first with isolated frost about eastern districts, then cool with light to moderate south to southeasterly winds. Cumulative rainfall totals from Friday afternoon until midnight Tuesday are expected to be 1 to 5 mm over the agricultural area, with falls of 5 to 10 mm about west and south facing coasts and ranges, and up to 2 mm over the southern pastoral districts and remainder of the Flinders district. Wednesday until FridayIsolated showers near southern coasts clearing Wednesday evening. Isolated showers developing in the north of the Northeast Pastoral on Thursday then extending over the remainder of the Northeast Pastoral on Friday.
