MELBOURNE - May 24/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A pool of cold air over the agricultural area will move slowly eastwards, reaching the eastern states early Friday. A high pressure system centred over the southwest of Western Australia will move slowly eastward over the next few days to be centred south of the Bight on Sunday and Monday. Another cold front will move over the southern agricultural area on Saturday. Forecast for the rest of ThursdayScattered showers and the chance of isolated thunderstorms and small hail over the agricultural area. Isolated showers over the south of the Pastoral districts and remainder of the Flinders district. Cold with fresh south to southwest to southeasterly winds, strong at times about parts of the coast.Friday 25 MayIsolated showers over the agricultural area and south of the pastoral and Flinders districts, scattered at times near southern and western coasts. Isolated showers clearing from Flinders and southern Pastoral districts during the day. Cool to cold with moderate to fresh southwest to southeasterly winds.Saturday 26 MayIsolated showers over the agricultural area, extending into the Flinders and southern pastoral districts from late morning. Showers increasing to scattered over the southern agricultural during the morning, then becoming isolated again by evening. Cool with moderate to fresh northwest to southwesterly winds.Sunday 27 MayIsolated showers over the southern agricultural area, contracting to southern coasts and ranges by evening. Generally cool with mainly moderate southwest to southeast winds.Monday 28 May Isolated showers near southern coasts and ranges. Cool with light to moderate southwest to southeast winds. Cumulative rainfall totals from Thursday afternoon until midnight Monday are expected to be 5 to 15 mm over the southern agricultural area, 1 to 5 mm over the northern agricultural area, and up to 1 mm over the south of the Pastoral districts and remainder of the Flinders district. Tuesday until ThursdayIsolated showers near southern coasts, contracting to Kangaroo Island and the Lower South East on Thursday.
