West, Maranoa and Warrego and parts of the Channel Country and Central Highlands
and Coalfields districts.
For the latest warning information please check the Bureau's

Weather Situation
A slow-moving high near New Zealand extends a ridge into southeast
Queensland. An upper level trough over Central Australia is expected to move
across southern Queensland from Thursday with a surface trough moving east
across western and central Queensland.
Forecast for the rest of Wednesday
Mainly isolated showers across the state, more widespread and tending to rain
at times about the northeast tropics. Isolated thunderstorms across Cape York
Peninsula and in the far northwest of the state. Fine though partly cloudy over
the far southwest. Moderate to fresh E to SE winds about the east coast, strong
at times north of Cooktown. Light to moderate SE to NE winds over the
interior.
Forecast for Thursday
Rain areas will develop over most of the interior, extending east and
reaching the eastern interior late in the day. Rain areas clearing the southwest
of the state in the afternoon. Some moderate to heavy falls over the eastern
Channel Country, the southern and central interior with possible local thunder.
Showers are expected over the eastern districts, with more widespread showers
tending to areas of rain about the North Tropical Coast. Scattered showers and
isolated thunderstorms across Cape York Peninsula. A new high over the Great
Australian Bight will push colder southerly winds across the western districts
during the day, and strong S to SE winds over the southern Gulf of Carpentaria
waters during the evening.
Forecast for Friday
The rain band with isolated thunderstorms is expected to move eastwards
across the central and eastern districts during the day. Moderate to heavy
falls are possible about the central and southern interior, as well as the
Central and Capricornia coasts. A cool to cold day across most of the state.
Fine weather will spread across most of the west of the state. Strong S to SE
winds throughout most of the Gulf. Strong S to SE winds also developing after
the wind change over the northern tropics.
Forecast for Saturday
The rain band is expected to clear off the southeast and central coast early
in the morning, though some showers and areas of patchy rain are expected to
linger over the northern tropics. Fine and sunny over the remainder of the state
with gusty and cold southerly winds. Areas of morning frost about parts of the
central and southern interior. Fresh to strong S to SE winds continuing over
Gulf waters and about the north tropical coast. Gusty southwesterly winds about
the southeast interior.
Forecast for Sunday
A high in the Great Australia Bight will spread dry and cool SW to SE winds
across most of the state with fine and mostly sunny conditions in most areas,
although areas of cloud will affect southern parts of the state. Showers will
persist about the far northeast of the state with isolated thunderstorms over
the far north of Cape York Peninsula. Cool to cold across most of the state with
frost areas through the central, southern and southeast interior.
Outlook for Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday
A high over the Great Australian Bight should maintain fine and generally
clear, but cool to cold conditions across most of Queensland during the outlook
period. Widespread areas of morning frost are expected across the southern and
central interior, including the inland parts of the southeast districts. The
high should move slowly across Victoria early in the new week, pushing onshore
winds and isolated showers across Queensland's east coast. The areas of morning
frost should contract inland and become less significant by Tuesday as moisture
spreads further inland.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:45 am EST
Thursday.
