Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - May 23/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A front near southern coasts on Wednesday afternoon was moving steadily east, with a cold pool of air in its wake, which will move over the State overnight and on Thursday. A high south of Western Australia will move slowly eastwards over the next few days to be centred south of the Bight on Sunday. A weak front will move over southern coasts on Saturday.
Forecast for the rest of WednesdayAreas of rain over the southern agricultural area, with isolated showers extending northwards into the south of the Pastoral and Flinders districts. Local small hail and isolated thunderstorms possible about southern and western coasts. Cool with moderate to fresh northwesterly winds in the east and north, ahead of a colder, gusty southwesterly change.Thursday 24 MayScattered showers over the agricultural area and isolated showers over southern Pastoral and Flinders districts. Possible isolated thunderstorms and small hail over the agricultural area. Cool to cold with moderate to fresh south to southwesterly winds.Friday 25 MayIsolated showers over the agricultural area and south of the Pastoral and Flinders districts, scattered in the morning over the Mount Lofty Ranges, Murraylands and South East districts. Isolated showers clearing from Flinders and southern Pastoral districts during the day. Cool to cold with moderate to fresh southwest to southeasterly winds.Saturday 26 May
Isolated showers over the agricultural area, extending into the Flinders and southern Pastoral districts in the afternoon. Showers increasing to scattered over the southern agricultural during the day. Cool with moderate to fresh northwest to southwesterly winds.
Sunday 27 May
Isolated showers chiefly over the agricultural area, contracting to southern coasts and ranges by evening. Generally cool with mainly moderate southwest to southeast winds.
Cumulative rainfall totals from Wednesday afternoon until midnight Sunday are expected to be 15 to 25 mm over the southern agricultural area, with local falls of 20 to 40 mm over southern coasts and the Mt Lofty Ranges. 5 to 15 mm is expected over the northern agricultural area, with 1 to 5 mm over the southern Pastoral districts and remainder of the Flinders district.
Monday until WednesdayIsolated showers near southern coasts and ranges, then fine on Tuesday and Wednesday apart from isolated showers in the Lower South East. Cool to mild with light to moderate southwest to southeast winds, tending easterly in the west.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:30 am CST Thursday.Product IDS10033
