Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - May 22/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure ridge extends across South Australia and will move slowly northeastward. A cold front and associated upper trough will move across the State during Wednesday and Thursday, followed by a high moving in from the west and over the Bight on the weekend.
Forecast for the rest of TuesdayIsolated showers extending over the agricultural areas, scattered at times over the southern agricultural area. Cool to mild with moderate to fresh northwest to westerly winds.Wednesday 23 MayIsolated showers and patchy rain extending over the agricultural areas and southern pastorals. Scattered showers following the rain with possible thunderstorms and small hail over southern coasts. Cool to mild with moderate to fresh northwesterly winds ahead of a cooler southwesterly change extending throughout.Thursday 24 MayScattered showers over the agricultural areas and isolated showers over southern Pastoral districts. Possible isolated thunderstorms and small hail over the agricultural area clearing from the west during the day. Cool to cold with moderate to fresh south to southwesterly winds.Friday 25 MayScattered showers over the agricultural areas easing and contracting southwards. Isolated showers clearing from southern Pastoral districts and northern agricultural areas during the day. Cool with moderate to fresh southwest to southeasterly winds.Saturday 26 May
Isolated showers extending over agricultural areas and into southern Pastoral districts in the evening. Showers increasing to scattered over the agricultural areas later in the day. Cool with moderate southwesterly winds.
Cumulative rainfall totals from Tuesday afternoon until midnight Saturday are expected to be 30 to 60 mm over southern coastal areas, parts of the Mt Lofty Ranges and southern Eyre Peninsula, 15 to 30 mm over the remainder of the southern agricultural area, 5 to 15 mm over northern agricultural areas and up to 5 mm over southern Pastoral districts.
Sunday until TuesdayShowers easing and gradually contracting to the southern coasts, clearing late Monday. Generally cool with south to southeast winds moderating and shifting northeasterly later in the period.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:30 am CST Wednesday.Product IDS10033
