MELBOURNE - May 21/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure ridge extends across South Australia and will move slowly northeastward. A cold front and associated upper trough will move across the state during Wednesday and Thursday. Forecast for the rest of TuesdayIsolated showers extending over the agricultural areas, scattered at times over the southern agricultural area. Early frost patches on and east of the Flinders Ranges. Cool to mild with moderate to fresh northwest to westerly winds.Wednesday 23 MayIsolated showers and patchy rain extending over the agricultural areas and southern pastorals ahead of a narrow band of rain moving over the agricultural areas. Scattered showers following the rain with possible late thunderstorms over the south central districts and Eyre Peninsula. Cool to mild with moderate to fresh northwesterly winds ahead of a cooler southwesterly change extending throughout.Thursday 24 MayScattered showers over the agricultural areas and south of the Northeast Pastoral easing to isolated showers from the west and contracting south. Possible isolated thunderstorms over the agricultural area clearing from the west during the day and throughout in the evening. Isolated showers extending over the south of the Northwest Pastoral then clearing during the evening. Cool to cold with moderate to fresh south to southwesterly winds.Friday 25 MayScattered showers over the agricultural areas north of Adelaide and the south of the Pastoral districts becoming isolated during Friday. Isolated showers elsewhere south of Leigh Creek, gradually contracting to areas south of about Keith to Ceduna. Cool with moderate to fresh southeast to southwesterly winds. Cumulative rainfall totals from Tuesday until midnight Friday are expected to be 20 to 40 mm over southern coastal areas, parts of the Mt Lofty Ranges and southern Eyre Peninsula, 5 to 20 mm over the remainder of the southern agricultural area and up to 5 mm over remaining agricultural areas and the southern pastorals.Saturday until MondayIsolated showers over the agricultural areas and southern Pastorals.
