Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - May 20/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A trough of low pressure is weakening off the northern New South Wales coast, while a high pressure ridge extends across the state. This ridge will maintain fine and stable conditions over most districts during the first half of the week, with showers restricted to the northeast where an onshore airstream will prevail. A cold front from the Southern Ocean is forecast to reach western parts of New South Wales on Thursday, before a low develops over the state in response to an upper-level trough. The positioning of this system is currently uncertain, but it is expected to bring rain to most districts as it moves east during Friday and Saturday.
