MELBOURNE - May 20/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure system over western Victoria will drift eastwards and will move off the northern New South Wales coast on Monday. A cold front will approach southwestern Victoria later on Monday before weakening and slipping away to the south Tuesday morning. However a stronger cold front will approach southwest Victoria late on Tuesday before moving through Bass Strait on Wednesday. A low pressure trough near Adelaide will deepen during Wednesday night with a low pressure system likely to develop over South Australia. during Thursday. Forecast for the rest of SundayFine apart from the chance of isolated showers near the coast. Light winds.Monday 21 MayFine apart from early frosts , patchy morning fog and isolated showers in the far southwest later. A cool to mild and mostly sunny day with light to moderate northwesterly winds, freshening in the west.Tuesday 22 MayScattered showers in the southwest but fine elsewhere after early fog and frosts. A mostly sunny day across the north and east but patchy cloud in the southwest. Cool to mild with north to northwesterly winds, freshening in southern areas.Wednesday 23 MayAreas of rain in the southwest gradually extending northeastwards during the day but remaining fine in the east and far north. A cool to mild day with a moderate to fresh northwesterly wind tending westerly from the west.Thursday 24 MayIsolated showers.
