Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - May 19/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system just west of Adelaide will extend a ridge across northern Victoria during Sunday. On Monday the high will move off the northern New South Wales coast and a broad low pressure trough will move south of the Bight. A cold front will approach southwest Victoria late on Tuesday before moving through Bass Strait on Wednesday. A low pressure trough near Adelaide will deepen during Wednesday.
Forecast for the rest of SundayMorning frosts and isolated fogs near and north of the divide. A dry day apart from the chance of isolated showers near the coast. A mostly sunny afternoon inland. Cool with southerly winds becoming light.Monday 21 MayFine apart from early frosts and patchy morning fog. A cool to mild and mostly sunny day with light to moderate northwesterly winds.Tuesday 22 MayIsolated showers in the southwest but fine elsewhere after early fog and frosts. A mostly sunny day across the north and east but patchy cloud in the south. Cool to mild with north to northwesterly winds, freshening in southern areas.Wednesday 23 MayAreas of rain in the southwest gradually extending northeastwards during the day but remaining fine in East Gippsland. Rain easing to isolated showers in the southwest during the afternoon and evening. A cool to mild day with a moderate to fresh northwesterly wind tending westerly from the west.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm EST Sunday.Product IDV10310
