Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - May 18/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A weak cold front crossing the State today will mainly affect southern districts. A high pressure system developing over the Bight will extend a ridge across northern Victoria during Sunday. On Monday the high will move off the northern New South Wales coast and a broad low pressure trough will move south of the Bight. A cold front will approach southwest Victoria late on Tuesday.
Forecast for the rest of SaturdayPatchy morning fog and frost in the northeast. Scattered showers extending across southern districts, but only isolated showers expected across the north. A cool day with light to moderate northwest to westerly wind turning southwest to southerly from the west.Sunday 20 MayMorning fogs and isolated frost in the north. Isolated showers near the coast contracting to the far southwest during the afternoon. A mostly sunny afternoon inland. Cool with southerly winds becoming light.Monday 21 MayAreas of morning fog and local frost, mostly north of the divide. Otherwise fine apart from a possible shower about the southwest coast. A cool to mild and mostly sunny day with light to moderate northwesterly winds.Tuesday 22 MayIsolated showers in the southwest but fine elsewhere. A mostly sunny day across the north and east but patchy cloud in the south. Cool to mild with north to northwesterly winds, freshening in southern areas.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm EST Saturday.Product IDV10310
