MELBOURNE - May 17/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A 1025 hPa high pressure system centred over eastern NSW will weaken and move eastward over the Tasman Sea today. A series of weak fronts will move across western and southern coasts ahead of another high moving over the Bight on Saturday evening. This high will move eastward over the following few days to be centred over the Tasman Sea on Tuesday. Forecast for the rest of FridayPossible isolated showers about western coasts and the southern agricultural area, increasing to scattered showers and possible isolated thunderstorms about southern coasts during the evening. Early frost patches in the far south of the Northeast Pastoral district and about the ranges in the Flinders and Mid North districts. Areas of morning fog about western districts and patchy fog about Kangaroo Island and Yorke Peninsula. Mild with light to moderate northerly winds, shifting cooler southwesterly in the west and south.Saturday 19 MayScattered showers and possible isolated thunderstorms on and east of the Mount Lofty Ranges. Isolated showers over the remainder of the agricultural area and west coast. Early frost patches about the Flinders Ranges and eastwards. Early fog patches in the west and over the agricultural area. Cool to mild with light to moderate southwest to southeast winds.Sunday 20 MayPossible isolated early morning showers over the east coast of Eyre Peninsula and developing about southern coasts late in the day. Early frost patches about the Flinders Ranges and eastwards. Early fog patches in the east. Mild to warm with light and variable winds.Monday 21 May Possible isolated showers about southern coasts. Early frost patches about the Flinders Ranges and eastwards. Early fog patches south of about Leigh Creek. Mild with light and variable winds, tending moderate west to northwest about southern coasts. Cumulative rainfall totals from Friday until midnight Monday are expected to be 2 to 5 mm over the southern agricultural area and up to 2 mm over the northern agricultural area and west coast. Tuesday until ThursdayPossible isolated showers about southern coasts Tuesday.
